Barbecued Chicken

recipe Detail

Description

Is there a place better than Texas to find a fantastic barbecue sauce? That’s where this one is from—it’s my father-in-law’s own recipe. We have served it at many family reunions and think it’s the best!

Ingredient

- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

- 1 cup barbecue sauce

- 2 tablespoons olive oil

- 1 teaspoon garlic powder

- 1 teaspoon onion powder

- 1 teaspoon paprika

- Salt and pepper, to taste

Direction

1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

2. In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper to create a marinade for the chicken.

3. Place the chicken breasts in a large resealable plastic bag and pour the marinade over them. Make sure all the chicken breasts are evenly coated. Let the chicken marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours.

4. Once the chicken has marinated, remove it from the bag and discard the excess marinade.

5. Place the chicken on the preheated grill and cook for about 6-8 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.

6. During the last 2-3 minutes of grilling, brush the barbecue sauce onto the chicken, flipping once to ensure both sides are coated.

7. Once the chicken is cooked through and the barbecue sauce is caramelized, remove it from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.

8. Serve the barbecued chicken with your choice of sides, such as grilled vegetables, rice, or a salad.
