Builder’s tea ice cream

recipe Detail

Description

You can get coffee ice cream everywhere, but tea-flavoured is much rarer, despite its incredible flavour. Swap your afternoon brew for a bowl of builder’s tea ice cream on a summer’s day and find yourself in cooling cuppa heaven. It really works.

Ingredient

- 2 cups heavy cream

- 1 cup whole milk

- 1/2 cup granulated sugar

- 3 bags of builder's tea

- 1 tablespoon olive oil

- Pinch of salt

- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Direction

1. In a medium saucepan, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, and sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved.

2. Add the builder's tea bags to the mixture and let steep for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

3. After 10 minutes, remove the tea bags and discard them. Add the olive oil, salt, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg to the mixture. Stir well to combine.

4. Transfer the mixture to a bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or overnight.

5. Once chilled, pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to manufacturer's instructions.

6. Once the ice cream is churned, transfer it to a freezer-safe container and freeze for at least 4 hours to allow it to fully set.

7. Serve your builder's tea ice cream in cones, bowls, or with your favorite toppings. Enjoy the unique flavor of this delicious ice cream!
