California BLT Chopped Bagel

recipe Detail

Description

To make this California BLT chopped bagel, you'll chop bacon, tomato, avocado, and lettuce into a smear of chive cream cheese, then sandwich it into an everything bagel. It's quick, easy, and so, so good.

Ingredient

-1 bagel

-2 slices of bacon

-1 small tomato

-1/4 avocado

-1/4 cup chopped lettuce

-Olive oil

-Seasoning (salt, black pepper, garlic powder)

-Dried spices (oregano, thyme)

Direction

1. Preheat a non-stick pan on medium heat.

2. Cut the bagel in half and lightly brush the cut sides with olive oil. Place the bagel halves on the pan, cut side down, and toast for about 2 minutes or until lightly golden brown.

3. In the same pan, cook the bacon slices until crispy. Once done, remove from the pan and place on a paper towel to absorb excess grease.

4. Slice the tomato into thin rounds and set aside. Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop out the flesh. Mash the avocado in a bowl and add a pinch of salt and black pepper for seasoning.

5. In a separate bowl, mix together the chopped lettuce with a drizzle of olive oil, a pinch of salt, and a sprinkle of dried oregano and thyme for seasoning.

6. Assemble the BLT chopped bagel by spreading the mashed avocado on the bottom half of the toasted bagel. Top with the sliced tomatoes, cooked bacon, and seasoned lettuce.

7. Place the top half of the bagel on the sandwich and press down gently to secure all the ingredients together.

8. Optional: for an extra crisp and warm bagel, place the assembled sandwich back on the pan for a few minutes on each side.

9. Serve and enjoy your California BLT Chopped Bagel!
