Cheese tortellini makes the best quick dinner recipe! Serve it up in a creamy marinara sauce flavored with goat cheese and basil.
- 1 package of cheese tortellini
- 1 jar of marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- Olive oil
- Salt
- Pepper
- Dried oregano
- Dried basil
- Grated parmesan cheese
1. In a large pot, bring water to a boil and add a pinch of salt.
2. Cook the cheese tortellini according to package instructions, usually for about 8-10 minutes.
3. Drain the cooked tortellini and set it aside.
4. In the same pot, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat.
5. Add the jar of marinara sauce to the pot and stir in 1 teaspoon each of dried oregano and basil.
6. Let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes.
7. Add 1/2 cup of heavy cream to the sauce and stir until well combined.
8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
9. Add the cooked tortellini to the sauce and stir until it is fully coated.
10. Let the tortellini simmer in the sauce for another 2-3 minutes.
11. Serve the cheesy tortellini in creamy marinara in a bowl and top with grated parmesan cheese.
12. Optional: drizzle some more olive oil and sprinkle some dried herbs on top for extra flavor. Enjoy!
