Cheeseburger Garbage Bread

recipe Detail

Description

This cheeseburger garbage bread is absolutely perfect for when you’re having a party. Garbage bread is what we used to call stromboli, and it’s so versatile because you basically can throw anything in it and it will taste amazing. Here, all the elements of a bacon cheeseburger, right down to the dill pickle, are rolled in thin pizza dough, baked until golden brown, and sliced into gorgeous spirals. It's great as-is, but we're including an optional secret sauce recipe to serve alongside.

Ingredient

- 1 lb ground beef

- 1 large onion, diced

- 2 cloves garlic, minced

- Salt and pepper to taste

- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

- 1 cup ketchup

- 1 cup mustard

- 2 tubes refrigerated pizza dough

- Olive oil

- Seasoning and dried spices (optional)

Direction

1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

2. In a large pan, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Add in the diced onion, minced garlic, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Cook until the onions are soft and translucent.

3. While the ground beef is cooking, unroll the refrigerated pizza dough onto a lightly floured surface. Gently stretch out the dough into a rectangle shape.

4. Once the ground beef is cooked, mix in the ketchup and mustard until well combined. Spread the mixture evenly onto the pizza dough, leaving about an inch of space around the edges.

5. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese over the top of the ground beef mixture.

6. Carefully roll up the pizza dough, starting from one of the long edges. Make sure to pinch the ends together to seal in the filling.

7. Grease a baking sheet with olive oil and place the rolled dough seam side down onto the sheet. Brush the top of the dough with olive oil and sprinkle with any desired seasonings and dried spices.

8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

9. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
