Chicken Parm Burgers

Description

This chicken Parm burger recipe makes an absolutely outstanding burger on every level, like a handheld version of everyone's favorite chicken Parmesan. The burger is made from chicken thighs freshly ground with mozzarella and marinara, breaded and fried, and then layered on toasted garlic buns with more marinara for a true chicken Parm experience.

Ingredient

- 1 lb ground chicken

- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs

- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

- 1 egg

- 1 tbsp olive oil

- 1 tsp Italian seasoning

- 1 tsp garlic powder

- Salt and pepper to taste

- 4 slices mozzarella cheese

- Marinara sauce

- 4 hamburger buns

- Olive oil for cooking

Direction

1. In a large bowl, mix together ground chicken, breadcrumbs, grated parmesan cheese, egg, olive oil, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt and pepper.

2. Form the mixture into 4 equal sized patties.

3. Preheat a skillet or grill over medium heat and lightly coat with olive oil.

4. Cook the chicken burgers for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked.

5. In the last minute of cooking, top each patty with a slice of mozzarella cheese and let it melt.

6. While the burgers are cooking, lightly toast the hamburger buns.

7. Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on the bottom half of the bun, topping with marinara sauce, and adding the top half of the bun.

8. Serve hot and enjoy your delicious chicken parm burgers! Optional: you can also add some extra grated Parmesan cheese on top for an extra cheesy kick.
