Cinnamon Baked French Toast

There's nothing more valuable than a handful of tried-and-true recipes you can turn to whenever you're in need of a delicious bite. Asking your friends and family for reccomendations is a good place to start, but there's something magical about discovering one of those dishes that has taken the internet by storm .


- 1 loaf of French bread

- 4 eggs

- 1 cup milk

- 1 tsp cinnamon

- 1 tsp vanilla extract

- 2 tbsp olive oil

- Salt and pepper to taste


1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a baking dish with olive oil.


2. Cut the French bread into 1-inch thick slices and arrange them in the baking dish.


3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, cinnamon, vanilla extract, salt and pepper until well combined.


4. Pour the egg mixture over the bread slices, making sure to cover each slice evenly.


5. Let the bread soak for 10 minutes, flipping the slices halfway through to ensure they are evenly coated.


6. Drizzle some olive oil over the top of the bread slices and sprinkle with a pinch of cinnamon.


7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until the bread is golden brown and crispy on the edges.


8. Serve hot with a dusting of powdered sugar and your choice of toppings, such as fresh berries or maple syrup.
