Description

This is the ultimate creamy mac and cheese recipe. It’s saucy, thick and very rich, with a wonderful cheddar flavor.

Ingredient

- 1 box of macaroni pasta

- 2 cups of milk

- 2 tablespoons of butter

- 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour

- 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese

- 1 teaspoon of salt

- 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper

- 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder

- 1/4 teaspoon of paprika

- 1/4 teaspoon of onion powder

- 1 tablespoon of olive oil

Direction

1. Begin by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the macaroni pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

2. In a separate saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the butter and allow it to melt.

3. Once the butter has melted, add the flour to the pan and whisk it together with the butter to form a roux. Cook for about 1 minute, stirring constantly.

4. Slowly pour in the milk, whisking constantly to prevent any lumps from forming. Continue to whisk until the sauce thickens, about 3-4 minutes.

5. Add in the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and onion powder to the sauce and stir to combine.

6. Gradually add in the shredded cheddar cheese, stirring continuously until it has melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy.

7. Turn off the heat and add the cooked macaroni into the cheese sauce. Stir until all the pasta is coated in the sauce.

8. If the macaroni and cheese seems too thick, you may add a splash of milk to thin it out.

9. Serve the creamy macaroni and cheese hot and garnish with extra shredded cheese and a sprinkle of black pepper, if desired.
