De-Lightful Tuna Casserole

This mild, homemade tuna casserole will truly satisfy your family's craving for comfort food without all the fat!

Ingredient

- 2 cans of tuna, drained

- 1 cup of cooked macaroni

- 1 cup of frozen peas

- 1/2 cup of diced onion

- 1/2 cup of diced bell pepper

- 1 teaspoon of olive oil

- Salt and pepper, to taste

- 1 teaspoon of dried thyme

- 1 teaspoon of dried oregano

- 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese

- 1/4 cup of bread crumbs

- Cooking spray

Direction

1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9x9 inch baking dish with cooking spray.

 

2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained tuna, cooked macaroni, frozen peas, diced onion, and bell pepper.

 

3. Drizzle in 1 teaspoon of olive oil and sprinkle in salt, pepper, dried thyme, and dried oregano. Mix everything together until well combined.

 

4. Transfer the mixture to the greased baking dish and spread it out evenly.

 

5. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the casserole.

 

6. In a small bowl, mix together the bread crumbs with a pinch of salt and pepper. Sprinkle the bread crumbs over the cheese.

 

7. Bake the casserole in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bread crumbs are golden brown.

 

8. Once done, remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
