Easy Blender Salsa

recipe Detail

Description

My family begs me to make this blender salsa during football season, with or without company coming over. It's so easy to make, that I don't mind. Use caution with the jalapeño pepper, however. I recommend using kitchen or disposable gloves. These amounts are the flavor my family likes, but you can use less or more jalapeño pepper depending on your tastes.

Ingredient

- 4 medium-sized tomatoes

- 1 onion

- 1 jalapeno pepper

- 1 lime

- 1 clove of garlic

- Olive oil

- Salt

- Pepper

- Cumin

- Dried oregano

Direction

1. Start by preheating your broiler to high heat.

2. Cut the tomatoes, onion, and jalapeno pepper in half and remove the seeds and stems.

3. Place the halved tomatoes, onion, and jalapeno pepper on a baking sheet lined with foil and drizzle them with olive oil. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, cumin, and dried oregano.

4. Broil the vegetables for 5-7 minutes, until they are lightly charred.

5. While the vegetables are broiling, squeeze the juice of one lime into a blender.

6. Once the vegetables are done broiling, add them to the blender along with one clove of garlic.

7. Blend all the ingredients until smooth. If you prefer a chunkier salsa, blend for a shorter period of time.

8. Taste the salsa and adjust the seasoning if needed. You can add more salt, pepper, cumin, or dried oregano to your liking.

9. Transfer the salsa to a serving bowl and serve immediately with your favorite tortilla chips.

10. You can also store the salsa in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week. Just make sure to give it a good stir before serving.

Enjoy your easy blender salsa as a dip for chips or as a topping for tacos, burritos, or any other dish that needs a little extra kick of flavor!
