Description

These Portuguese-style golden tartlets are perfect to finish off a dinner party or as an afternoon treat with coffee

Ingredient

- 1 sheet of frozen puff pastry, thawed

- 3 eggs

- 1/2 cup heavy cream

- 1/4 cup milk

- 1/4 tsp salt

- 1/4 tsp black pepper

- 1/4 tsp garlic powder

- 1/4 tsp onion powder

- 1 tbsp olive oil

- 1 tsp dried thyme

- 1 tsp dried rosemary

- 1 tsp dried parsley

- 1 tsp dried basil

Direction

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. In a mixing bowl, crack the eggs and whisk them until well beaten.

3. Add in the heavy cream, milk, and seasonings (salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, dried rosemary, dried parsley, and dried basil) to the beaten eggs. Mix everything together until well combined.

4. Take the thawed puff pastry sheet and cut it into 6 equal squares.

5. Grease a muffin tin with olive oil and line each cup with the puff pastry squares, pressing them gently against the sides and bottom of the cups.

6. Pour the egg mixture into each of the puff pastry cups, filling them about 2/3 of the way.

7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the custard is set and the pastry is golden brown.

8. Once done, remove the egg custard tarts from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.

9. Gently remove the tarts from the muffin tin and serve warm.
