French toast = perfect breakfast!!!
- 1 loaf of cinnamon raisin bread
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Powdered sugar (optional)
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, maple syrup, vanilla extract, olive oil, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and salt until well combined.
3. Cut the cinnamon raisin bread into cubes and add them to the egg mixture. Gently stir until all the bread cubes are coated in the mixture.
4. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with olive oil. Pour the bread and egg mixture into the dish and spread it out evenly.
5. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the bread is slightly crispy.
6. Let the French toast bake cool for a few minutes before serving. Optional: sprinkle with powdered sugar for a little extra sweetness.
