Caramelized onions, Worcestershire sauce, and a beef bouillon cube mixed with sour cream and cream cheese make the perfect creamy, tangy dip for game days and parties.
- 1 large onion
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
1. Begin by thinly slicing the onion into half-moons.
2. In a medium-sized skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced onions to the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, until they become soft and caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
4. Once the onions are caramelized, remove them from the heat and let them cool to room temperature.
5. In a mixing bowl, combine the sour cream, mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir until well combined.
6. Once the caramelized onions have cooled, add them to the sour cream mixture.
7. Season with salt and pepper to taste and stir until everything is well combined.
8. Transfer the French onion dip to a serving bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to develop.
9. Serve with your favorite chips, crackers, or fresh vegetables and enjoy your homemade French onion dip!
