Fresh Salsa

recipe Detail

Description

I love salsa. I always make it. I made this raw salsa recipe and brought it to work. Everyone raved. It is the best salsa I have ever had. The jicama really makes a difference.

Ingredient

- 6 vine-ripened tomatoes, diced

- 1 small red onion, finely chopped

- 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and finely chopped

- 1 lime, juiced

- 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped

- Salt and pepper, to taste

- 1 tablespoon olive oil

- 1 teaspoon cumin

- 1 teaspoon chili powder

- 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Direction

1. In a large bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, red onion, jalapeno pepper, lime juice, and cilantro.

2. Add a pinch of salt and pepper to the bowl, and mix all the ingredients together.

3. In a small pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once heated, add in the cumin, chili powder, and garlic powder.

4. Stir the spices in the oil for 30 seconds until fragrant.

5. Pour the spice mixture over the salsa and mix well.

6. Taste the salsa and adjust the seasoning to your liking.

7. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

8. Serve the fresh salsa with your favorite tortilla chips or use it as a topping for tacos, nachos, or grilled meats.

Enjoy your homemade fresh salsa with the perfect balance of tanginess, spiciness, and freshness.
