Fry Sauce

recipe Detail

Description

Want a change of pace from ketchup? Try fry sauce! You'll often find this spiced-up blend of ketchup and mayo in Utah and Idaho.

Ingredient

- 1 cup mayonnaise

- 1/4 cup ketchup

- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

- 1 teaspoon garlic powder

- 1 teaspoon onion powder

- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

- 1 teaspoon dried oregano

- Olive oil (for frying)

Direction

1. In a small bowl, mix together 1 cup of mayonnaise and 1/4 cup of ketchup until well combined.

2. Add in 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar to the mayonnaise and ketchup mixture and stir.

3. Next, add in 1 teaspoon each of garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and dried oregano to the bowl. Mix everything together until the spices are evenly distributed.

4. Heat a small amount of olive oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.

5. Once the oil is hot, add in your desired food for frying. This could be anything from french fries, onion rings, or chicken tenders.

6. Let the food cook until it is crispy and golden brown on one side, then flip and cook the other side.

7. When the food is cooked, remove it from the frying pan and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb any excess oil.

8. Serve the fried food with a side of the homemade fry sauce for dipping. Enjoy!
