Gooey Butter Cake

recipe Detail

Description

A friend gave me a quick version of this gooey butter cake recipe using a cake mix, but I prefer baking from scratch, so I came up with my own. My family can't get enough! The middle will sink a little; this is normal. This dessert is delicious served warm or cold.

Ingredient

- 1 cup all-purpose flour

- 1 cup granulated sugar

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

- 1 egg

- 1 tsp vanilla extract

- 1/4 cup olive oil

- 1 tsp baking powder

- 1/4 tsp salt

- 1 tsp cinnamon

- 1 tsp nutmeg

- Powdered sugar, for garnish

Direction

1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix well.

3. Add the softened butter, egg, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined.

4. Slowly pour in the olive oil while mixing the batter. This will help create a gooey texture.

5. Grease a 9x9 inch baking pan with olive oil. Pour the batter into the pan and spread it evenly.

6. Bake the cake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

7. Let the cake cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.

8. Dust the top of the cake with powdered sugar for extra sweetness and presentation.

Enjoy your delicious and gooey butter cake made with minimal ingredients! You can also add in your favorite toppings, such as fresh berries or a drizzle of chocolate, for an extra touch.
