New York-Style Pizza

recipe Detail

Description

This New York-style pizza recipe makes a no-nonsense pie. Since the crust is pliable enough to fold, cut the pizza into larger pieces if you want to eat your slices in the traditional New York way.

Ingredient

-1 pizza dough, homemade or store-bought

-1 cup tomato sauce

-1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

-1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

-1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

-1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

-1/2 teaspoon dried basil

-1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

-1 tablespoons olive oil

Direction

1. Preheat your oven to 475°F (246°C).

2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out your pizza dough into a large circle or rectangle, depending on your preference.

3. Transfer the pizza dough onto a greased baking sheet or a pizza stone.

4. In a small bowl, mix together the tomato sauce, garlic powder, dried oregano, dried basil, and red pepper flakes.

5. Using a spoon or ladle, spread the tomato sauce mixture over the pizza dough, leaving about 1/2 inch of crust around the edges.

6. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the pizza sauce.

7. Next, sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese on top of the mozzarella.

8. Drizzle the olive oil over the top of the cheese.

9. Bake the pizza for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

10. Once done, remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy your homemade New York-style pizza!
