One Pot Creamy Ground Beef and Orzo

recipe Detail

Description

This one pot creamy ground beef and orzo is a weeknight winner because it uses one pan, requires only a little hands-on work, and is ready in about 40 minutes.

Ingredient

- 1 lb ground beef

- 1 cup uncooked orzo

- 1 onion, diced

- 2 cloves garlic, minced

- 1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 oz)

- 1 cup beef broth

- 1 cup heavy cream

- 1 tbsp olive oil

- 1 tsp Italian seasoning

- Salt and pepper to taste

Direction

1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add in diced onion and minced garlic and cook until softened, about 2-3 minutes.

2. Add in ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks.

3. Once the beef is fully cooked, add in the uncooked orzo and stir to combine.

4. Pour in the canned diced tomatoes, beef broth, and heavy cream. Stir well to combine all ingredients.

5. Add in the Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste. Stir to incorporate all the flavors.

6. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally.

7. Once the orzo is fully cooked and the sauce has thickened, remove the pot from heat.

8. Serve the creamy ground beef and orzo hot, garnished with some freshly chopped parsley or grated parmesan cheese, if desired. Enjoy!
