This pepperoni pizza grilled cheese sandwich is two classic favorites blended into one. With pepperoni, mozzarella, pizza sauce, and black olives, this is no plain grilled cheese sandwich. I'm a meat and sauce kind of gal so I came up with this. Feel free to use other pizza toppings if you like.
- 4 slices of bread
- 8-10 slices of pepperoni
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper, to taste
1. Begin by heating a large pan or griddle over medium heat.
2. Spread a thin layer of olive oil on one side of each slice of bread.
3. Once the pan is hot, place two slices of bread, oil side down, onto the pan.
4. Sprinkle a pinch of garlic powder and dried oregano onto the bread.
5. Layer 4-5 slices of pepperoni onto each slice of bread.
6. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the pepperoni.
7. Top each slice of bread with the remaining slices, oil side up.
8. Cook for 3-4 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
9. Using a spatula, carefully flip the sandwiches over and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until both sides are evenly golden brown and the cheese is fully melted.
10. Once done, remove the sandwiches from the pan and let them cool for a few minutes.
11. Cut diagonally and serve hot.
Enjoy your delicious pepperoni pizza grilled cheese! You can also add any other toppings of your choice, such as sliced mushrooms or diced bell peppers. Serve with a side of marinara sauce for dipping, if desired.
