Heads up that this one does have to cook for a few hours, so you'll need to plan accordingly. But it's a true drop-and-go dinner — and basically makes itself.
- 1 pound chicken breast
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Slow cooker
1. Season the chicken breasts with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Make sure to coat both sides of the chicken evenly.
2. In a small bowl, mix together the BBQ sauce and olive oil until well combined.
3. Pour half of the BBQ sauce mixture into the bottom of the slow cooker.
4. Place the seasoned chicken breasts on top of the BBQ sauce mixture in the slow cooker.
5. Pour the remaining BBQ sauce mixture over the chicken, making sure to coat the chicken evenly.
6. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
7. Once the chicken is fully cooked and tender, remove it from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks.
8. Place the shredded chicken back into the slow cooker and mix it with the remaining BBQ sauce mixture.
9. Let the chicken cook for an additional 15-20 minutes on low to allow the flavors to blend together.
10. Serve the Slow Cooker BBQ Chicken hot and enjoy with your favorite side dishes such as rice, potatoes, or vegetables. You can also use the chicken for sandwiches or wraps. Enjoy!
