This creamy, smoky dip features flaky smoked salmon two ways: Half is finely chopped to add a pleasant texture to the dip alongside briny pops of capers, and the rest is pureed with the mayonnaise, sour cream, and cream cheese, lending its beautiful color and deepening the flavor.
- 8 oz smoked salmon
- 1/4 cup cream cheese
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp dried dill
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt to taste
1. Begin by preparing the smoked salmon. If using fresh salmon, grill or bake until cooked through. If using pre-made smoked salmon, simply remove from packaging and chop into small pieces.
2. In a small bowl, mix together the cream cheese, mayonnaise, lemon juice, garlic powder, onion powder, dried dill, and black pepper. Stir until well combined.
3. Add the chopped smoked salmon to the cream cheese mixture and stir until the salmon is evenly distributed.
4. Drizzle in the olive oil and continue stirring until the dip reaches your desired consistency. Add more olive oil if you prefer a thinner dip.
5. Taste the dip and add salt as needed.
6. Serve the smoked salmon dip with crackers, bread, or sliced vegetables for dipping. Enjoy!
