Tangier Island Virginia Crab Cakes

recipe Detail

Description

I grew up eating these crab cakes, which are crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. They’re absolutely delicious every time I make them.

Ingredient

- 1 lb Tangier Island Virginia crab meat

- 1/4 cup mayonnaise

- 1/4 cup bread crumbs

- 1 egg

- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard

- 1 tbsp olive oil

- Salt and pepper

- Garlic powder

- Onion powder

- Paprika

Direction

1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the Tangier Island Virginia crab meat, mayonnaise, bread crumbs, egg, Dijon mustard, and olive oil. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

3. Season the mixture with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika to taste. Mix again to ensure the seasoning is evenly distributed.

4. Using your hands, form the crab mixture into small patties, about 2 inches in diameter.

5. Place the crab cakes onto the prepared baking sheet and lightly brush the tops with a little bit of olive oil.

6. Bake the crab cakes in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy on the outside.

7. Remove the crab cakes from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.

These Tangier Island Virginia Crab Cakes can be served as an appetizer or a main dish. They are delicious on their own or served with your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy!
