The Ultimate Breakfast Corndog

Start your day off right with this breakfast twist on a classic corn dog. This sausage link is dipped in bacon batter and cooked to a fluffy perfection.


- 4 large hot dogs

- 1 cup all-purpose flour

- 1 teaspoon baking powder

- 1/2 teaspoon salt

- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

- 1 egg

- 1/2 cup milk

- 4 wooden skewers

- 4 slices of American cheese

- 4 strips of bacon

- Olive oil

- Seasoning and dried spices (optional)


1. Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. (Optional: you can add a pinch of your favorite dried spices to the flour mixture for extra flavor.)

3. In a separate bowl, beat the egg and then add in the milk. Mix until well combined.

4. Slowly pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture, stirring constantly until a thick batter forms.

5. Take your hot dogs and dry them off with a paper towel. Then, insert a wooden skewer into each hot dog, leaving about 2 inches at the bottom for a handle.

6. Dip each hot dog into the batter, making sure it is evenly coated. (Optional: you can sprinkle some seasoning onto the batter for added flavor.)

7. Place the coated hot dogs on a greased baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the batter is golden brown and crispy.

8. While the corndogs are baking, cook the bacon in a pan over medium heat until crispy. Set aside.

9. Once the corndogs are done, let them cool for a few minutes before removing the wooden skewers.

10. Cut each slice of American cheese in half and place it on the bottom half of the corndog, wrapping it around the hot dog.

11. Take a strip of bacon and wrap it around the top half of the corndog, securing it with toothpicks if necessary.

12. Heat a bit of olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Once hot, place the corndogs in the pan and cook for a few minutes on each side, until the cheese is melted and the bacon is crispy.
