Description

I got this recipe from my aunt and made a couple of changes to suit my taste. With ground beef and bacon mixed in, these satisfying beans are a big hit at backyard barbecues and church picnics. I'm always asked to bring my special beans.

Ingredient

- 1 can black beans

- 1 can kidney beans

- 1 can cannellini beans

- 1 onion, chopped

- 3 cloves of garlic, minced

- 2 tablespoons olive oil

- 1 tablespoon chili powder

- 1 teaspoon cumin

- 1 teaspoon paprika

- Salt and pepper to taste

- Optional: 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes for extra spice

Direction

1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. Drain and rinse the black beans, kidney beans, and cannellini beans in a colander. Set aside.

3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook until the onion becomes translucent, stirring frequently, about 5 minutes.

4. Add the three types of beans to the skillet and stir to combine.

5. Sprinkle chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper over the beans. If desired, add red pepper flakes for some extra spice. Stir until the beans are evenly coated with the spices.

6. Transfer the bean mixture to a baking dish. Spread it out evenly.

7. Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes, until the beans are hot and bubbly.

8. Serve the three-bean baked beans as a side dish or as a main course with some rice or crusty bread.
