A family favourite, this filling and warming supper is ready in under half an hour - and uses lots of storecupboard ingredients
- 1 pound penne pasta
- 1 can of tuna, drained
- 1 head of broccoli, chopped
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish with olive oil.
2. Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
3. While the pasta is cooking, heat 1/4 cup of olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
4. Add the chopped broccoli to the pan and sauté for 5-7 minutes until it becomes slightly tender.
5. Drain the tuna and add it to the pan with the broccoli. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
6. Season the broccoli and tuna mixture with 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of dried oregano, 1 teaspoon of dried basil, and 1 teaspoon of dried thyme. Add salt and pepper to taste.
7. In a separate bowl, mix the cooked pasta with the broccoli and tuna mixture.
8. Transfer the pasta mixture to the greased baking dish and top with 1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese.
9. Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
10. Serve hot and enjoy your delicious tuna and broccoli pasta bake! You can also add additional seasonings or spices to suit your taste.
