Description

No need to choose between tangy tomato or creamy cheese sauce – this easy bake, with turkey mince and mascarpone, has the best of both

Ingredient

- 1 lb ground turkey

- 1 onion, diced

- 2 cloves of garlic, minced

- 1 can of crushed tomatoes

- 1 can of tomato sauce

- 1 lb of pasta (any shape you prefer)

- 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese

- Olive oil

- Salt and pepper

- Dried basil

- Dried oregano

- Dried thyme

Direction

Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius).

2. In a large pot, cook the ground turkey over medium heat until it is browned and fully cooked. Use a wooden spoon to break up the turkey into smaller pieces as it cooks.

3. Once the turkey is cooked, add in the diced onion and minced garlic. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the onion is soft and translucent.

4. Pour in the can of crushed tomatoes and can of tomato sauce. Stir to combine and let it simmer for about 10 minutes.

5. While the sauce is simmering, cook the pasta according to package instructions. Make sure to cook it until it is al dente (firm to the bite) as it will continue to cook in the oven.

6. Drain the cooked pasta and add it to the pot with the turkey bolognese sauce. Stir to combine until the pasta is fully coated with sauce.

7. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with olive oil. Pour in the pasta and turkey bolognese mixture. Spread it out evenly in the dish.

8. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the pasta and sauce. Season with salt, pepper, dried basil, oregano, and thyme to taste.

9. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.

10. After 20 minutes, remove the aluminum foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

11. Let the pasta bake cool for 5-10 minutes before serving. Enjoy your delicious turkey bolognese pasta bake!
