Wisconsin Butter-Basted Burgers

recipe Detail

Description

It’s no secret that Wisconsinites love their dairy—so much that they sometimes top their burgers with a generous pat of butter. My recipe is a lot like the butter burgers you’ll find in popular restaurants all over the state.

Ingredient

- 1 lb ground beef

- 4 tbsp Wisconsin butter

- Salt and pepper

- Garlic powder

- Onion powder

- Olive oil

- 4 hamburger buns

Direction

1. Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.

2. In a small bowl, mix together 1 tsp of salt, 1 tsp of pepper, 1 tsp of garlic powder, and 1 tsp of onion powder. Set aside.

3. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal parts and shape them into patties, about 1/2 inch thick.

4. Drizzle olive oil over both sides of each burger patty and rub it in to coat evenly.

5. Season both sides of the patties with the spice mixture from step 2.

6. Place the burgers on the hot grill and cook for 4 minutes on one side.

7. Flip the burgers and place a tablespoon of Wisconsin butter on top of each patty.

8. Close the lid of the grill and let the burgers cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium-rare doneness.

9. While the burgers are cooking, lightly toast the hamburger buns on the grill.

10. Remove the burgers from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.

11. Assemble the burgers by placing each patty on a bun and topping with your favorite burger toppings.

12. Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious Wisconsin Butter-Basted Burgers!
